Shirley Max Brantley obituary

Services for Shirley M. Brantley, 73, of Edom were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2002 at Edom United Methodist Church, Edom, with the Revs. Jesse Brannen and Louie Barron officiating.

Burial was in Edom Cemetery under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Mr. Brantley died Oct. 31, 2002 in Tyler. He was born Sept. 14, 1929 in Edom to William Harris and Ollie Frances Fulgham Brantley. He attended Edom United Methodist Church and was a Mason and member of Scottish Rite. He grew up in Edom, served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War and spent 30 years managing several credit unions in Groves and Beaumont, retiring in 1989.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Vivian Colley and Fairy Beth Palmer.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Miller Brantley, Edom, brother, Morris Brantley, Edom; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were David Cotton, Loy Dean Hutchins, Bill Caldwell, Joe Stephens, Wayne Smith, Danny Walker and Randy Marshall.

Honorary pall bearers were members of Edom United Methodist Church.

Visitation was at the Funeral Home 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
