W.C. Smith Rites Today
Funeral services for W.C. "Smitty" Smith, 56 of the Old Longview Road, Tyler, will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Bill Eads officiating.
Burial will be in Wood Verner Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died Saturday in a Galveston hospital after a long illness.
A native of Texarkana, he was a truck driver for Carr Oil Co. of Tyler. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Smith of Tyler; two sons, James Powell and Arnold Powell, both of Tyler; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Hickman, Mrs. Cindy White and Mrs. Kathy Dean, all of Tyler; and Mrs. Georgia Ann Welch of Brownsboro; his mother, Mrs. Sudie Cantrell of Antlers, Okla.; two brothers, A.L. Smith of Tyler and J.C. Smith of Lubbock; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Hague of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Faye Bridges of Ratlan Okla.; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be John Williams, Dale Martin, Sack McKelvey, George Harper, George Freeman, and Johnny Richardson.
The family will be at 1402 S. Donnybrook.
