Mrs. W. S. Garrett died at her home five miles West of Paint Rock Monday morning, after an illness of several weeks.
She was born in Giles county, Tennessee, Oct. 8, 1865.  Joined the Methodist Church when she was 13 years of age.  She leaves a husband, W. S. Garrett, and nine children, beside other near relatives.  There were two single children at home, Lonnie and Miss Jewell.  Then, near the homestead are sons W. A. Coy Garrett, and a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Mikeska, two sons, Isam Garrett, Karnes county, Claude Garrett, Placedo, and two daughters, Lizzie Trigg, Iriland, Texas and Mrs. Rowe of Fresno, Calif.  All the children came to the funeral except Mrs. Rowe and Isam Garrett.  A nephew, C. C. Minatra, of Placedo also came to the funeral.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Methodist church in Paint Rock and burial in the Paint Rock Cemetery Bro. Cole officiating.  The coffin and flowers were beautiful and the ceremony very impressive.
The family came to Paint Rock and Concho county in the early part of the year 1919 and bought a portion of the J. W. Hurt farm one of the bet improved places in the whole section, abut 440 acres.  Since then, Mr. Garrett has bought more land as well as have Andrew and Coy.
