Long-Time Ranger Resident's Rites Scheduled Today
RANGER - - Funeral was to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Methodist Church for Mrs. Lillian L. Smith, 79, resident of Ranger for 40 years, who died Thursday at her home. The Rev. Lively Brown, pastor, and the Rev. K. C. Edmunds, pastor of East Side Baptist Church, were to officiate. Burial was to be in Evergreen Cemetery under direction of Killingsworth Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born Lillian L. Toone in Limestone County, Ala., Feb. 23, 1879. She was married to Martin S. Smith Dec. 2, 1900, in Hopkins County. Mr. Smith died in 1940. Survivors include one son, Everett H. Smith of Fort Worth; four daughters, Mrs. M. E. Teague of Sundown, Mrs. A. S. Beck of McCamey, Mrs. II. E. Gregory of Odessa, Mrs. E. C. Gray of Kermit; one sister, Eunice Toone of Ranger; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Grandsons were to be pallbearers.
